I have to set my alarm to good times for one if I'm sleeping and need to be somewhere. I also rely on other people to keep me on track sometimes.

1. Usually my cell phone or my iPod wakes me. My morning commute involves taking the local train to my university, it's about a 7 minute ride. And my'03 Honda Accord is my weekend crusader as it gets me from point A to B with time to spare.

ReplyDeleteI prep all my clothes the night before just to make sure i still want to wear that outfit the next day. Because you can make pretty harsh wardrobe decisions when you're still groggy in the morning.

WHAT I TRY TO DO IS PREPARE THE NIGHT BEFORE .I ALSO LEAVE THE TV ON BECAUSE ONCE I HEAR THE THEME SONG FOR ACTION NEWS AT 6AM I KNOW ITS TIME TO GET UP. I KNOW AT THAT POINT I HAVE 2 HOURS TO GET DONE WHAT I DID NOT PREPARE THE NIGHT BEFORE WITH TIME TO SPARE

GREAT BLOG!
ReplyDeleteTHIS MIGHT BE EXTREME BUT I SET MY CLOCKS 30 MINUTES FAST TO BE ON TIME.
HOUSTON
EMAIL: HOUSTONBRED@ROCKETMAIL.COM
ReplyDeleteto get places on time and to be on time in general i:
ReplyDelete1. set all clocks about 12 1/2 minutes fast, which usually gets rounded to 10 minutes when im thinking about it being fast.
2. take the train generally, since i live right next to a station. and i give myself cushion time or the train or shuttle to mess up
3. i prepare everything i need the night before- ironing clothes, lunch, everything... this saves me alot of time in the morning- so all i have to do is get ready and im out the door.
4. eat and exercise daily. this may seem random, but what your health plays a big role in your body functions and its easier for me to wakeup now than back in the day 3 or 4 years ago when i would eat pizza chips and soda for dinner. now my dinners are usually fish or turkey, with fruit smoothies and/or huge salads.
5. i make sure my car is always filled up. i fill up my car when its on 1/2 tank- sometimes 3/4th just so i wont ever have to worry. my mom would always be running late when i was young, then shed have to stop and put in gas making her more late- so you can say i learned from her, but i just learned to do the opposite.
6. keep my house, office, car clean and organized. be organized saves time. i know where everything is so im never searching for "my blue and white tie" or "my cologne" etc.
if i can think of anything else i'll get back to you.

I try to set my alarm clock or phone to wake me up. I have a hard time leaving the comfort of my bed. Most times I'm late thou unless I wake up atleast a hour early to prep. I don't have a watch thou. :-)
I add 15 minutes to my "first instinct" time...I'm a poor estimator so this ends up working fairly well for me. Plus I have an Orient Mako to help me out!

Well There's only one way, and one way only, to making sure your early or atleast ontime, and thats being PREPARED!!! so if you can't physically lay out what your planing to wear, at least envision it, and i mean give thought to even the EXACT boxer-briefs your going to wear and where its located, and all this you can do just minutes before you fall asleep in bed... I find that when my clothes are all laid out, physically or mentally that just leaves taking a quickie shower, and grabbing a granola bar or two... 20mins TOPS and your on your way!!!! Also An Orient Automatic watch does help you keep track of time while you dash!!!

Answer: Put an alarm across the room and compensate for the time needed to get from my house to work, school or general engagements.
To make sure I show up at the appropriate time when planning to get to work or other engagements I usually set a zero hour to get out of the house by. I find its easier to get ready when your working to beat a certain time. Setting your clock ahead may work for some people, but I'd rather not fool myself into leaving early or getting out of the house on time. I find its better to just have make some sort of a plan and know when you've got to be out of the door.

I always put the fresh ringtone on the phone for me to wake up to in the morning. Nothing gets you out of bed and active like a great song.
ReplyDeleteAs for school (San Diego State!)... there are way too many beautiful people down here to NOT go to class. Fact!
And for everything else... I'd say leave yourself enough time so that you don't sweat your fit on the way out the door. Besides, who doesn't like to slow ride every once in a while?

"What do you do to make it to work, school, or general engagements on time?"
Have it built within me that if I'm late for the person or people I'm meeting then the impression of me they create is that I'm unorganised and late. The worry of this is that this attribute could be an overriding factor of any of my good attributes. Therefore I'm never late as I aim to maintain my image consistently, and not letting one attribute be the downfall of my overall impression to people.
And that doesn't mean arriving on time, that means arriving at LEAST 5 minutes before hand.

I have my clothes Polaroid, so night before i look through my look book, and plan out what ill be wearing the nexy day. Also, i set my alarm clock fifteen minutes ahead of the time i'm actually supposed to get out of bed,and time i should get up so i can know im to get up soon, and not have interrupted sleep. it makes me grumpier when im to get up at that moment. For going out, i just make sure i start getting ready 40 minutes before, weather to iron, or just double check my outfit so i won't be rushed.
